Hi-Cone (manufacturer of the new ring carrier)...

           carrier's environmental compatibilities, proper use,
           and distribution channels.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 17
WHERE: in Charlotte on Tuesday and Raleigh on Wednesday.
at local bottlers and retail stores
Also available for telephone or in-person interviews.
           B-roll on request.
WHY: North Carolina distributors are among the first in the
nation to offer the new environmentally friendly carriers.
The Tear-Tab carrier was developed by ITW Hi-Cone to reduce the risk of wildlife entanglement caused by improperly discarded plastic packaging. The new carriers are designed to become brittle and fall apart in the sunlight. They are also recyclable, non-toxic, and easy to use.
North Carolina distributors are encouraging consumers to be environmentally responsible by breaking the rings as they remove each can from the new six-pack carriers.
