NEW SET OF INDY 500 PRIZES OFFERED BY DUCK TAPE MANUFACTURER

NEW SET OF INDY 500 PRIZES OFFERED BY DUCK TAPE MANUFACTURER
INDIANAPOLIS, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Indy 500 drivers this year will compete for $25,000 in contingency prizes for crossing the finish line with the aid of that great quick fixer, Duck(R) Brand Tape, or for finishing with the Manco Duck logo on their cars.
As official tape supplier to the Indianapolis 500, Manco, Inc., is offering a contingency prize of $10,000 for the first driver to cross the finish line sporting a Manco Duck decal on his or her car.
The first nine racers crossing the finish line with Manco Duck(R) Tape on their cars will earn cash prizes totaling $15,000. The United States Auto Club (USAC) will certify tape and decal applications before and during the race.
Manco representatives will be at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway throughout the month of May, servicing the drivers and pit crews with "tape boxes" full of Manco's Duck(R) Tape and other basic tapes. Indy car speeds and technology have improved dramatically over the years, and Manco Duck(R) Tape will be counted on to hold quick repairs through the finish line.
"Manco and the Indy 500 make a fun pair," said Jack Kahl, Manco's CEO and president. "We both thrive on moving fast, maintaining a consistently high quality product, and creating excitement. It's exciting to know that our Duck(R) Tape can make a big difference in the outcome of the race."
Duck(R) Tape is used for a variety of purposes at the Speedway, from car body repair and balancing wheels to driver aerodynamics and signaling the presence of a rookie ahead. Colored Duck(R) Tape will be offered so pit crews can match hues with each team's look on both the car and the driver.
Manco, a Westlake, Ohio manufacturer, sells tape, weatherstripping, self adhesive labels, and CareMail(R) mailing and shipping supplies to the retail market. Kahl was last year's runner-up in Inc. Magazine's "Entrepreneur of the Year" Award.
Manco's 75 "Action Packer" tape boxes were donated by Rubbermaid Inc.
