From 2 June 2004, Delta Air Lines will offer more services from New York to Athens, Greece to coincide with the 2004 Olympic Games. The airline will offer customers a second flight from JFK airport to Athens, which will increase the service to three times weekly. The extra flight will be operational until 29 September 2004.

Emirates is to launch a passenger service to Shanghai, China in 2004. The airline - which operates a cargo-only service to Shanghai - will introduce passenger services to its first destination on Chinese mainland next April, with four flights a week. The service will be upgraded to a daily operation on 15 May 2004.
