NEW SEARS MOTORIST PLAN INTRODUCED BY ALLSTATE MOTOR CLUB

 CHICAGO, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- To meet the needs of stranded motorists, Allstate Motor Club, Inc. today announced the "Sears Motorist Plan," a new, full-service emergency road service program sponsored by Sears Tire and Auto Centers.
 The Sears Motorist Plan, available in both deluxe (for $69.95 a year) and standard versions (for $49.95 a year), has 10 features including Emergency Road Service, Lost Key/Lockout Protection, Arrest Bond Certificate, TRIP-PLANS, "Car Cash" Coupon Book and a Sears Motorist Plan bimonthly newsletter.
 "Being a member of a comprehensive road service plan like the Sears Motorist Plan ensures that you can get help when automotive failure leaves you stranded," said Al Dyon, president of Allstate Motor Club, Inc. "Drawing on the affiliation of our two companies, we are able to offer a product that combines Allstate Motor Club's extensive emergency road service background with Sears Auto Centers' automotive expertise."
 "The Sears Motorist Plan is an added benefit for customers who rely on Sears for their automotive needs," said Al Dombrowski, vice president, Sears Automotive. "Customers can purchase the Sears Motorist Plan in the Automotive Department and use the `Car Cash' coupon book for discounts on selected Sears automotive products and services."
 The Sears Motorist Plan is initially being offered in 45 Sears Tire and Auto Center locations throughout the country as well as by direct mail and telemarketing in 45 states. Availability in the remaining states is pending regulatory approval.
 There are more than 800 Sears Tire and Auto Centers throughout the country offering motorists a wide range of automotive services, as well as national brand and private label products. The centers offer nationwide warranty service, and most are open extended hours, seven days a week.
 Allstate Motor Club, Inc., headquartered in Arlington Heights, Ill., offers a variety of comprehensive emergency road service membership programs including RV Roadhelp for recreational vehicle owners. Memberships and information can be obtained by calling 1-800-ALL-CLUB ext. SMP.
