NEW PRESIDENT NAMED TO HEAD YOKOHAMA TIRE CORP.
FULLERTON, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC), the U.S. subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. (YRC), today announced that Mr. Eika Yamagata will become president and chief executive officer of the Fullerton-based company, effective Oct. 1. Yamagata replaces Mr. Yoshimichi Hanabusa, who is returning to Japan as YRC managing director in charge of corporate planning and fulfilling the duties of corporate secretary. Yamagata, 56, has been with YRC since 1961 and was elected corporate director in March of this year. He has spent seven years in the corporate planning and department and one year as general manager of YRC's tire overseas division. Hanabusa first came to the United States in October of 1989 as president of the newly-acquired Mohawk Rubber Company. In July of 1992, YTC and the Mohawk Rubber Co. were consolidated. At that time, Hanabusa was named president and CEO of YTC. Yokohama Tire Corp. is the U.S. based manufacturing, marketing and distribution arm of Tokyo's Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.
