NEW PRESIDENT ELECTED BY HEALTH LAWYERS ASSOCIATION

 WASHINGTON, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Sanford V. Teplitzky, Esquire, has been elected 1993-94 president of the National Health Lawyers Association (NHLA). Teplitzky, a nationally recognized expert in Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse issues, is a partner in the Baltimore office of Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver.
 As NHLA's highest-elected officer, Teplitzky will serve the nation's largest educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field. Besides health reform, NHLA is a leader in managed care, fraud and abuse, tax and antitrust issues in health care. With over 6,500 attorneys and other health professionals as members, the NHLA conducts national as well as regional educational programs, publishes books, newsletters and periodicals, and offers the NHLA Alternative Dispute Resolution Service.
 Teplitzky has lectured extensively on health law issues across the country and has been widely published in trade journals, periodicals and anthologies. Teplitzky has been listed in the 1991-92 and 1993-94 editions of "The Best Lawyers in America," Health Law category, sits on the advisory boards of various professional publications and has served as a member of the American Hospital Association's Ad Hoc Task Force on Medicare and Medicaid Fraud and Abuse.
 In addition to his extensive professional contributions to the field of health law, Teplitzky is currently serving his second term as president of the Baltimore Jewish Council and has served as the president for the Baltimore-based Action for the Homeless.
 An honors graduate from Tulane Law School, Teplitzky assumed his position of NHLA president May 19, 1993, at the association's annual meeting in Washington. Since joining the association in 1977, he has served the NHLA as a director, officer, program chairman, author and member of the Educational Fund Committee, the association's public interest arm.
