NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO FOR AMALGAMATED BANK
NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO FOR AMALGAMATED BANK NEW YORK, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Gabriel P. Caprio has been
unanimously elected by the board of directors of Amalgamated Bank of New York to the office of president and chief executive officer, the company announced today. Caprio has served as the bank's executive vice president and chief financial officer since joining Amalgamated Bank in February of 1989.
Immediately prior to joining the Amalgamated, Caprio served as vice president of finance for Oxford Research international Corp., a privately owned firm involved in international pharmaceutical research and development. He was employed at Chase Manhattan Bank for nine years, where he was responsible for expanding the bank's operations and systems in South America, the Caribbean and Canada. Prior to joining Chase, Caprio worked at Chemicals Bank and Citibank where he was responsible for letter of credit operations. Caprio has a bachelor of arts degree from Seton Hall University and a master's degree in business administration from New York University. Caprio resides in Glen Ridge, N.J., with his wife, Jerilyn, and his daughter, Alyson.
