NEW POLAROID PROGRAM FOR TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY RECEIVES FIRST-EVER
SEAL OF APPROVAL FROM NATIONAL FREIGHT CLAIM & SECURITY COUNCIL
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Polaroid Load Verification Program, an innovative approach to cutting freight damage and claims costs, has been awarded the National Freight Claim & Security Council's seal of approval. This marks the first time in its 60-year history that the Council has endorsed any product. The National Freight Claim & Security Council, a division of the American Trucking Associations, is the oldest council in the American trucking industry.
"We're proud, for the first time ever, to put our seal of approval on a product that has proven to reduce freight damage and claims cost," says J.P. Moery, director, National Freight Claim & Security Council.
The recently introduced Polaroid Load Verification Program has been shown in extensive field testing to reduce damage incidence by more than 50 percent.
"The program was a tremendous success for us," says Nick Manzie, manager of claims and retail operations, New England Motor Freight. "In the first few weeks of implementing the Polaroid Load Verification Program, our damage incidence dropped a dramatic 53 percent from the same time period a year before."
The Polaroid Load Verification Program involves the proactive use of instant photography -- photographic documentation of both inbound and outbound freight shipments as they are being loaded and unloaded, regardless of any evidence of damage to the freight.
"We're honored that the Council has chosen to endorse the Polaroid Load Verification Program," Nick Romania, marketing program manager, Polaroid, says. "This endorsement, coupled with the tremendous response we've received from the industry, underscores the fact that the industry is ready for a simple, effective program that will help reduce freight damage and cut costs."
Polaroid will begin a national roll-out of the Load Verification Program this spring.
Polaroid Corporation, with sales of almost $2 billion, is the worldwide leader in high-quality, hard copy instant imaging. The company supplies instant photographic cameras and film and conventional and electronic visual communication products to the consumer, business, industrial and scientific markets.
