NEW PIZZA CONCEPT ARRIVES IN DETROIT
DETROIT, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank Spadafore, the franchiser of

Spad's Pizza, a Williamston, Mich.-based corporation, is pleased to announce the opening of the newest franchise store in Detroit, at 13812 Grand River, just west of Schaefer, 313-838-4800.
The Detroit store is the fifth store to open in Michigan. The first Spad's Pizza opened in Grand Rapids in January 1992 with great success, even though it was in the midst of winter. Other Michigan stores opened to date include: Muskegon, Bay City, Lansing, Holland and the newest store in Detroit. A total of 15 stores are scheduled to be open by the end of 1992.
Spad's Pizza is a drive-thru-only, pizza-by-the-slice franchise that also serves whole round pizzas, large square pizzas, pasta, salads, bread sticks, desserts and Pepsi beverages. Prices are affordable, with cheese pizza slices at 59 cents, pepperoni pizza slices at 79 cents, and deluxe pizza slices at 99 cents. A 10-inch-round pepperoni pizza sells for $2.59 and a large square pepperoni pizza is $5.99. Customer response at the Detroit store has been very positive with customers returning and bringing their friends. Spadafore said customers state they appreciate the convenience of the drive-thru-only concept, and love the Spad's Pizza taste.
Spadafore added that franchise watchers and those involved in fast food have declared the Spad's Pizza concept to be a "real winner." Inquiries for both single- and multiple-franchise units have been received from all over Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Nevada and California. Although major corporations have expressed interest in investing and/or buying the concept, Spadafore stated that after over two years of research and development, long hours and a huge financial investment, he will continue to take the lead in expanding within the industry.
