NEW NBI LEGACY(R) VERSION SUPPORTS MICROSOFT WINDOWS 3.1-CUSTOMIZABLE ICON BAR, OLE AND DRAG AND DROP FUNCTIONALITY LEAD AS NEW FEATURES
 BOULDER, Colo., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- NBI Inc. today announced enhanced support of Microsoft Windows 3.1 with the latest version of its advanced word processor Legacy. New features of Legacy 2.1 emphasize the program's flexibility in creating newsletters, proposals, reports, marketing collateral and other documents that integrate graphics and text. Key new features include a customizable icon bar, OLE support, standard dialog boxes and drag and drop functionality.
 "User flexibility has always been a primary driving force for Legacy product enhancements," said Dave Locke, senior marketing manager at the Boulder-based publisher. "Each new feature of Legacy 2.1 empowers users to create striking documents -- yet still retain the product's ease-of-use value."
 NBI Legacy 2.1 will be available through authorized NBI resellers beginning June 15, 1992. For Legacy upgrade information, users can call 800-NBI-1111.
 Customizable Icon Bar
 Legacy 2.1 includes several new user interface enhancements including the ability to customize the Legacy icon bar. Users can customize the icon bar of graphic buttons providing quicker access to commonly used Legacy features. Options for changing the custom icon bar include the ability to choose from over 100 icons included for standard Legacy functions or the user can create icons for customized functions. By developing customized icon bars, users are automatically able to raise their efficiency in document creation.
 OLE Support
 Legacy 2.1 provides OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) facilities thereby enhancing Legacy's integration with other popular Windows applications. Using the new OLE support, Legacy 2.1 users can now embed graphics and tables from other software applications. All applications which support the Microsoft OLE standard can be embedded using Legacy's sophisticated frame architecture.
 Drag and Drop
 Legacy 2.1 has added support for Drag and Drop shortcuts frequently used for opening and printing files. By accessing the new Drag and Drop functionality, users can "drop" a Legacy chapter on their printer icon and the document will automatically print or the user can "drop" a Legacy chapter on the Legacy icon and the document will automatically open.
 Standard Dialog Boxes
 Legacy 2.1 offers support of the new Windows 3.1 dialog box standard. By adopting the new dialog standard, 2.1 users will appreciate the common interface commands across their various applications.
 Product Features
 Legacy combines high-impact word processing, desktop publishing and graphics capability in a single easy-to-use software package. Legacy features a fully interactive environment providing an intuitive and visually accurate approach to document production. Other features include built-in graphics and table editors; 25 pre-defined document templates; in-depth kerning, leading and word spacing controls; extensive layout flexibility, including linked frames, DDE and OLE file linking with other applications and complete import/export capabilities. Specific advanced word processing features include macros, an integrated thesaurus and interactive grammar and spell checking. Known for its extensive control of page layout, Legacy also includes color image processing and support for floating frames.
 NBI Legacy 2.1 System Recommendations
 NBI Legacy 2.1 system recommendations include Microsoft Windows and MS-DOS 3.2 or higher; 80386 CPU; 2 MB RAM; VGA display and Windows-compatible mouse. While the program supports Windows 3.1, it will run under Windows 3.0 as well.
