NEW MEXICO SOFTWARE UNVEILS ASSETWARE 3.0 UPGRADE.
The transition from AssetWare 2.x also incorporates document and content management file formats including basic text, html properties, e-mail and a PDF engine. Other new engines added to AssetWare 3.0 include an OCR engine and full text indexing for all office documents including text, Word, Word Perfect, Excel, PDF, and PowerPoint files.
AssetWare is the flagship enterprise product of New Mexico Software that features the company's unique digital asset management capabilities. The main focus of this latest upgrade is the use of high performance computing hardware with the software. It also breaks from New Mexico Software's traditional open source software to feature a client choice of commercial database products such as Oracle and Sybase databases.
The enterprise servers of choice are from IBM and Apple. In using the Apple G5 series hardware, AssetWare 3.0 moves to the 64bit processing power platform of the new Apple servers. The G5 is the world's fastest and most powerful personal computing server environment. IBM is also a leader in the market with the E325 64bit server.
New Mexico CEO Dick Govatski said, "Our in-house engineering staff and development teams have created a major step up in computing power and capability for server applications with AssetWare 3.0. The HPAS (High Performance Application Server) configuration is what the market is demanding and our team is responding to the next generation of Linux based hardware and software.
