NEW MCCANN CAMPAIGN FOR NEW YORK TELLS WHY 'IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK IN THE CITY!' NEW YORK, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- "It's great to be back in The City!" is the tagline of a new print campaign created by McCann-Erickson for the New York State Department of Economic Development, promoting tourism in New York City. It is the latest chapter in the "I Love NY" series. With hand-written recollections interspersed with watercolor-like drawings of famed New York City landmarks and traditions, the ads tell of the special pleasures of a visit to "The City" -- from the surprise of finding that perfect painting at an artist's sidewalk sale to the delight of discovering a charming "cappuccino place." Whether it's theater, dining, nightlife, or shopping, the advertising portrays "The City" as delivering these entertainments in an incomparable way. Vincent Tese, the state's director of economic development, said: "This newest chapter in our 'I Love NY' campaign sets New York apart as 'The City' -- one of a kind and the world's greatest city destination. We expect the campaign to provide a new boost to tourism, one of our most important industries."
