MENTION a three-wheeler and thoughts of Del Boy and Rodney's Reliant Robin usually spring to mind.

But now Lotus have teamed up with the Yanks to give the Trotters a run for their money with this futuristic electric number.

The ZAP Alias - ZAP standing for Zero Air Pollution - will cost just pounds 15,000 and go from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 156mph. It's powered by two electric motors, one driving each of the front wheels. Unlike the Robin, the single wheel is at the back.

The two-seater has a range of more than 100 miles and is set to go on sale next year.

And as Del Boy would no doubt say if he got his hands on one of California-based ZAP's motors - Lovely Jubbly!
