 NEW LAUNCH DATE SCHEDULED FOR SATCOM C-4
 PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- GE American Communications,


Inc. (NYSE: GE) (GE Americom) has scheduled Aug. 31 as the new launch date for its communications satellite, SATCOM C-4.
 The launch was originally set for Aug. 15 and then postponed due to a technical problem. The problem has been fully corrected.
 SATCOM C-4 will be placed in geosynchronous orbit at 135 degrees W.L., and will distribute major cable TV programming to cable systems nationwide.
 The satellite will carry the following popular cable services:

 -- Nickelodeon
 -- The Discovery Channel
 -- American Movie Classics
 -- Family Channel
 -- C-Span
 -- QVC Network
 -- Lifetime
 -- Jones Space Segment
 -- Madison Square Garden Network

 -- Home Shopping Network
 -- AdStar
 -- NuStar
 -- The Travel Channel
 -- WWOR
 -- Request TV
 -- Viewer's Choice
 -- The Movie Channel
 -- VH-1
