NEW LASER-DRIVEN VIDEO PRESENTATION WOWS MCI ANNUAL MEETING
WASHINGTON, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- A laser-driven video presentation that sent comets zooming over the heads of MCI (NASDAQ: MCIC) shareholders, set the Kennedy Center's Concert Hall stage alight with crystal-clear projected video images and the use of three-dimensional objects as projection screens marked the first time a company has taken advantage of the special effects and high-quality image of a laser-driven video projector.
"The video projector gave us the freedom to totally rethink video production and bring an entirely new look to the audience by creating the experience of a video environment. No longer are we confined to a rectangular screen simply sitting at the end of the room," said Michael Martorella, Aniforms' vice president of sales and marketing.
MCI selected Aniforms to create the opening video for its annual meeting because of Aniforms' expertise in combining creative, original ideas with new technology and its extensive background in producing corporate meetings and events.
Unlike traditional RGB video projectors, which have a specific focal point, the digital laser projector does not have to be held at a pre-set focal point. It presents a vivid, focused image on any surface, even curved screens and three-dimensional objects such as spheres.
"We were able to turn the entire auditorium into our screen," said Martorella. In addition to three non-traditional screens on stage, the video presentation was projected onto the walls and ceiling. "Instead of observers, we made the audience participants," he added.
According to Gail Knapp, MCI's vice president of corporate communications, MCI was interested in using the new technology because of its reputation as a technology leader in telecommunications. "Just as an annual report projects the image of a company, so too does an annual meeting. Aniforms helped us come across as an innovator and leader," she said.
Aniforms, a leader in audio/visual production for over 25 years, produces over 100 corporate meetings, events and videos a year for Fortune 500 clients. In addition to the new laser-driven video projector, the company works in other media, including video, film, multi-image, live animation and business theater.
Aniforms is a subsidiary of Comart, part of the Paris-based EURO RSCG group of advertising and sales promotions agencies.
