 NEW INSPIRATIONAL NETWORK CHARLOTTE STUDIOS
 AND OFFICES NEAR COMPLETION
Will be One of the Premier Broadcast Facilities
in all the Southeastern United States
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Construction is nearing completion on the new studios and headquarters of the New Inspirational Network (INSP) which, when completed in mid-November, will be one of the finest broadcast and production studios in the Southeastern United States and the only one of its kind in the state.
The $11 million, 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Charlotte facility, will have three sound stages offering nearly 11,000 square feet of studio space alone. It will be fully equipped for complete in-house and remote television and film production and video post- production.
"This new facility will not only give us the ability to pursue our goal of producing the kind of quality, innovative, entertaining, family-oriented inspirational programming, but it will also give INSP the capability to be a major resource for the local community as well as the broadcast networks and motion picture production companies which have been looking to Charlotte as a new East Coast hub of operations," said INSP President David Cerullo.
"This new facility represents a major commitment to the growth of INSP, the cable industry and our commitment to Charlotte."
Studio productions will be directed from two control rooms, with a pair of audio control rooms rounding out the facility's in-house production capabilities.
Post-production plans call for two on-line, digital visual effects equipped, interformat editing suites, a dedicated electronic graphics suite and an off-line editing suite.
With INSP's on-site satellite teleport, producers using the facility will not be operating in isolation. Through its four dish, fully redundant system, they will have access to both C-Band and KU-Band satellites.
Additionally, INSP will have live remote broadcast and location production equipment, which can be used as a resource by both the television and motion picture industries.
While INSP plans to make its facilities available for use by outside producers, the studios are a key part of the network's plan to originally produce 35 percent of its own high-quality, family oriented, cable exclusive programming by the year 1997.
INSP currently employs nearly 50 people. By the end of 1993, that number is expected to reach 75. This is in sharp contrast to just two short years ago when the network -- under previous management -- was bankrupt and had an employment base of a mere seven.
"It is exciting to be a part of this turn-around," added Cerullo. "Whether you are a cable system operator, a television producer, a religious program syndicator, or an advertising agency, we hope you can see the direction we're going and get to know us. It could be the beginning of a great relationship."
INSP plans to formally open its new network headquarters in January 1993 with a grand opening celebration and open house.
INSP is a non-denominational, not-for-profit cable network which currently serves more than 750 cable systems across the country with a growing subscriber base of nearly 6 million homes.
