NEW YORK, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- New Holland, N.V., (the Fiat (NYSE: FIA) group company in charge of the farm and construction equipment sector) and the Barrera Group of Mexico announce the conclusion of an agreement for the expansion of their existing cooperation in the FTA joint venture company.
With this agreement, signed today in New York by Rodolfo Barrera, president of the Barrera Group, and by Riccardo Ruggeri, New Holland's chief executive officer, the two groups will hold an equal share of FTA, which will now gain access to New Holland's most advanced technology for the production of a wide range of agricultural tractors from 65 to 100 HP to meet the growing requirements of the important Mexican market, of which it already holds a share of over 40 percent.
FTA will also have the opportunity to market these products through the New Holland worldwide distribution network, thus further enhancing its contribution to the development of the Mexican economy.
