 NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR BOEING COMMERCIAL ENGINEERS
 SEATTLE, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Vice president Robert A. Davis has been named general manager of the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group's (BCAG) Engineering Division, BCAG said today.
 He is responsible for all BCAG engineering activities, flight test engineering and operations and government technical liaison.
 Davis became vice president of BCAG engineering in July 1991, following a year as director of engineering for the Group's Everett Division where the 767 and 747 aircraft are produced.
 He previously served as chief project engineer for the 747 program in Everett and has also been chief engineer for structures in the Renton Division where the 737 and 757 aircraft are produced.
 Davis joined Boeing in 1958 and has held several management positions, including technology chief of the 757, and various assignments with the 737, 727 and supersonic transport programs. His early Boeing years were spent in structures and materials for the 707 and KC-135 programs.
 He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and has a master's degree in engineering from the University of Washington.
 As vice president and general manager of the Engineering Division, Davis succeeds Ben Cosgrove, who has been named senior vice president for Technical and Government Affairs. Cosgrove is responsible for dealing with regulatory agencies in matters of design and technology and is BCAG's senior advisor on safety matters.
