NEW GENERAL MANAGER AT GM'S SERVICE PARTS OPERATIONS DETROIT, July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The appointment of William J.
Lovejoy as general manager of General Motors (NYSE: GM) Service Parts Operations (SPO) was announced today by J. Michael Losh, General Motors vice president and group executive in charge of GM's North American Vehicle Sales and Marketing.
Lovejoy, 51, was president of General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) until placed on special assignment last month as part of a realignment of GMAC management. At SPO he succeeds John R. Rines who recently was named president and chief operating officer at GMAC. SPO, which is headquartered in Flint, Mich., with sales offices based in Detroit, markets automotive replacement parts worldwide through its AC-Delco, GM Parts and International sales activities.
