NEW DIRECTOR NAMED TO SANTA FE PACIFIC PIPELINES INC. BOARD

 LOS ANGELES, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert D. Krebs, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Santa Fe Pacific Corp., was elected to the board of directors of Santa Fe Pacific Pipelines Inc., the general partner of Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline Partners L.P. (NYSE: SFL), effective April 30, 1993.
 Krebs, 50, has served in his current position with Santa Fe Pacific Corp. since 1988. Prior to being appointed chairman, Krebs was president and chief executive officer from July 1987 and served as president and chief operating officer before that. Santa Fe Pacific Corp.'s principal subsidiaries are The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Co., Santa Fe Pacific Minerals Corp. and Santa Fe Pacific Pipelines Inc. Krebs also serves as a director of Phelps Dodge Corp., Northern Trust Corp., Catellus Development Corp. and Santa Fe Energy Resources Inc.
 Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline Partners L.P. is the largest independent refined products pipeline in the United States in terms of revenue generated. The partnership serves six western states with approximately 3,300 miles of common carrier pipeline and 14 truck loading terminals.
