NEW DEVONT EINSTEIN(TM) E-MAIL VERSION 4.0 ADDS GROUP SCHEDULES, MAIL LISTS, AND MORE

 -- Competitor to WordPerfect(R) Office(TM) Features
 Full, Direct MHS Support --
CONROE, Texas, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Devont Software, Inc. is shipping a new version of its economical MHS(TM) electronic mail software, which also features phone messages, chat, address books, notepad, an in/out board, personal and group calendars, network utilities and more. The new version's new features include coordinated group schedules, mail lists and choice-of-route message addressing. New Einstein(TM) E-Mail version 4.0 is available for $249 (10-user version; all prices suggested U.S. resale per server at participating resellers; $299 for 20-user, $499 for unlimited users).
The new address book choice-of-route feature lets a user select among several methods of delivery when sending a message to a selected correspondent. The range of choices will depend on the gateways installed on the local MHS hub and what forwarding options are available through other connections. For example, mail to an Internet address could go to the Internet via a local (UUCP or SMTP) gateway, or through a connection via any of several commercial electronic mail services. These many routes (as well as others, as through fax gateways or other electronic mail connections) can all be options for any single entry in the address book. This gives senders easier control over the timeliness and cost of their e-mail activities, on a piece-by-piece basis.
The new version also adds intelligent links that let a user make an appointment with someone or send him or her mail from inside that person's address book record.
"These improvements are a natural extension of the `desk set' approach we want to take with Einstein," says Development VP Jim Tyson. "It's no secret that Wordperfect Office was our original model, and it's that we're each following our own drummers in bringing out improvements. I just like to think that our drum beats a little faster."
