NEW DETROIT BOARD WILL NOT OPPOSE PROPOSAL 'A'

DETROIT, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of trustees of New Detroit, Inc. will not oppose Proposal "A" on the June 2 special election ballot. The decision was reached at a special meeting of the membership held today at the offices of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan.
After much deliberation, the Government Affairs and the Education, Youth and Arts Committees had recommended that New Detroit oppose the property tax and school finance reform proposal. That recommendation was then considered by the full membership, which voted not to support it.
