 NEW COURIER DIVISION OFFERS BOOKS ON DEMAND
 LOWELL, Mass., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Courier Corp.


(NASDAQ: CRRC)has launched a new business division called EPIC (Electronic Publishing Innovations-Courier.) The new service is dedicated to providing the book and document publishing community with quick turnaround on short-run orders, including next-day service.
 At the heart of Courier's on-demand capability is a Xerox DocuTech Publishing system, a high speed state-of-the-art electronic printing system that can be networked directly to text files stored in Courier's digital library or in a customer's computer.
 According to Courier President James F. Conway III, the company plans to install several additional DocuTech systems at its newly renovated facility in North Chelmsford, Mass. Courier has also relocated its FulServ kitting, fulfillment and distribution service into expanded space in this facility.
 "Courier's on-going strategy is to offer innovative products and services that anticipate the needs of our customers and enable us to meet those needs quickly and cost effectively. We are committed to serve as an enabler for publishers helping them to adapt to new technologies and the inevitable changes they bring. The creation of EPIC is the latest evidence of our commitment.

 Conway alluded to additional EPIC services that will be announced in the near future, referring to "new integrated capabilities designed to simplify the entire process for our customers, from pre-press to billing."
