NEW CONTRACT FOR ACRES GAMING INC.

CORVALLIS, Ore., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Acres Gaming Inc. (NASDAQ: AGAM) today announced it has received a new contract for its Concept III Slot Merchandising System from the Rio Suite Hotel & Casino of Las Vegas. The order has a value in excess of $1,500,000. Installation will begin in early February 1994.
The Rio Suite Hotel & Casino is a leading Las Vegas property with strong "local player" appeal. The Rio recently completed a 500 machine casino expansion and has added a new hotel tower. The casino now contains just over 1,800 machines. Additional expansion to approximately 2,000 machines is expected through the summer.
John Acres, president of Acres Gaming commented, "The Rio casino is a premier Las Vegas 'locals' casino. This contract further validates the need for a new generation of Slot Merchandising equipment that only Acres Gaming offers. We are gratified by the early market acceptance of this technology and are very enthusiastic about the likelihood of sales contracts with other casinos over the coming year."
Acres Gaming has pioneered the Concept III Slot Merchandising Systems, a technology which makes machines more entertaining for players and more profitable for casinos. Based in Corvallis, the company completed its first contract in late 1992 and has installed its systems at 10 other casinos, including three casinos for the Wisconsin Winnebago Nation and the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
