NEW CONFAB PANTY FOR WOMEN WITH INCONTINENCE MADE OF DUPONT 'COMFORSPAN' FOR DIGNITY IN WEARING

WAYNE, Pa., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Confab Companies has introduced the "SuretyS System Care" washable panty for women with light to moderate bladder control problems -- a condition which affects a growing number of women in the rising U.S. elderly population.
Confab and DuPont (NYSE: DD) expect consumers will spend $500 million on incontinence products by 1995.
The SuretyS panty is made of DuPont "ComforSpan" personal care fabric. The panty holds an adult incontinent pad without sacrificing breathability and comfort. The panty features a waterproof crotch panel, is machine washable and dryable, and retains its waterproofing feature after repeated washings. With this new System Care panty design, consumers get high-level protection and confidence at an affordable price. Prior to developing the SuretyS panty, Confab used a consumer study by the Gediman Research Group to determine that 66 percent of women surveyed were enthusiastic about a new washable on incontinence panty that provides a higher level of confidence and dignity at an economical price.
"SuretyS is the first reusable panty to combine the softness, comfort, stretch and breathability of ComforSpan in an affordable panty," said Bill Dreessen, vice president of marketing, Confab.
"Women we have surveyed consider the ComforSpan panty to be as comfortable as a cotton panty," said Bob Peterson, new business development, DuPont Company. "With SuretyS, women can now be confident that the panty will hold the shield in place for security and peace of mind."
Confab will provide SuretyS panties in small, medium and large sizes at a suggested retail price of $3.99 per pair. The SuretyS panty will be available at most major drug stores and pharmacies in the United States.
Confab Companies is a leading manufacturer and marketer of value brand and private label feminine hygiene and adult incontinence products.
"ComforSpan" fabric is part of DuPont's "Sontara" Technologies spunlaced fabric systems. DuPont spunlaced fabrics have been used since 1973 in medical gowns and drapes, as well as in consumer, industrial and durable goods applications.
