NEW AT&T 800 TRAVEL DIRECTORY BRINGS THE WORLD TOLL-FREE

ORLANDO, Fla., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Travelers planning an afternoon in a hot-air balloon or an around-the-world cruise now have a logical starting place: the AT&T 800 Travel Directory.
The expanded, 300-page 1993 edition is available with nearly 8,000 toll-free 800 numbers travelers can call for information and reservations. Listings include everything from hotels, motels and inns to airlines and cruise lines, from campgrounds to casinos, from river- rafting expeditions to golf resorts.
"Our first edition of the 800 Travel Directory last year made a big hit with travelers everywhere," says Kathryn Sullivan, publisher of the AT&T 800 Directories. "This new '93 edition will prove even more valuable in planning business trips or vacations. It's a 'must have' for any traveler."
The easily referenced, alphabetized categories in the travel directory allow consumers to do comparison shopping, calling different travel providers toll-free to check prices and rates before making a decision.
Newspapers, magazines and consumer advocates from coast to coast have praised the first directory. Here's what two experts said:
-- "I've added another item to my never-travel-without
inventory: the AT&T 800 Travel Directory," wrote
travel columnist Dennis Tanner for the Booth
 newspapers of Michigan.
-- "It's going to save users a great deal of time,
effort and money," wrote Stephen Levine in his
column, "The Informed Caller" in the Philadelphia
Daily News. "It's a tremendous value."
The new 800 directory fits into a purse or briefcase and weighs nine ounces. It costs $4.99, which covers postage and handling.
AT&T also publishes three other 800 directories, including the 1993 Toll-Free 800 Directory Business Edition ($14.95), the Consumer Edition ($9.95), and 800 Gifts, Catalogs and Celebrations Directory ($4.99). All can be ordered by calling an 800 number -- 800-426-8686.
