NEW ASIA-PACIFIC HEAD FOR VISA

 SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindsay Pyne has been appointed president of the Asia-Pacific region for Visa International, based in Tokyo.
 Pyne will have overall responsibility for the marketing and development of the Visa card business throughout Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand.
 Pyne was formerly managing director and group chief executive of the Bank of New Zealand. He was instrumental in devising and implementing a financial and operational restructure which culminated in the bank being sold to National Australia Bank last year.
 Prior to his tenure at the Bank of New Zealand, Pyne headed two other large New Zealand financial institutions, Postbank Ltd. and Broadbank Corp. He has also held a variety of senior management positions with Citicorp in South Africa and the Middle East.
 Pyne replaces Carl Pascarella who recently moved to head Visa's operations in the United States.
 Visa is the largest consumer payment system in the world with 10.5 million acceptance locations and 316 million cards issued worldwide, including 157 million in the U.S. Visa also has the world's leading ATM network.
