 NEW APPAREL MANUFACTURING PLANT TO BE BUILT IN SCREVEN COUNTY;
 150 NEW JOBS TO BE ADDED TO ECONOMY
 SYLVANIA, Ga., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Screven County Industrial Development Authority today announced plans to build a 35,000-square-foot, $800,000 manufacturing facility that will be leased on a 15-year lease-to-buy agreement with Ithaca Industries.
 When completed early next year, the new facility will enable the T- shirt manufacturing company to double its employment base in Screven County from the current 150 to more than 300.
 The plant is the first facility to be built in the county's recently completed 531-acre industrial park. Ithaca purchased a 15-acre site in the park last March.
 "Ithaca's new facilities, combined with some 150 new jobs, will represent a direct economic boost to Screven County in the range of $4 million a year," Development Authority Board Chairman David Gurka said.
 "The cost of the building and investment in associated manufacturing equipment will total $1.3 million," Gurka added.
 Ithaca opened its first Sylvania operations in 1989, leasing facilities in a local shopping center.
 Headquartered in Wilkesboro, N.C., Ithaca operates 25 manufacturing plants in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
