 NEW AIR SERVICE TO BEGIN IN FEBRUARY
 NEW YORK, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The first scheduled air service


started by a travel agent will begin Feb. 5. Operated through Carnival Airlines, a new company called Sunbird Express will offer flights between Islip, Long Island, and Miami, with added service to San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to Sunbird Express President and co-founder Jodi Romanello. Ticketing will be available only through travel agents.
 Sunbird Express will offer New York-Miami fares of $179 (one way unrestricted) and $298 (round trip, non-refundable). Morning flights Thursday through Monday on Sunbird Express' 727 aircraft will depart Islip at 7:45 a.m. and will arrive in Miami at 10:30 a.m. Departures from Miami to Islip are scheduled for Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6:45 p.m., arriving at 9:30 p.m.
 Continuing service will be available to San Juan. One-way fare between New York and San Juan is $219 plus tax (child -- $189). Round trip is $359 plus tax, non-refundable. Departures from Miami will be at 11:30 a.m., with arrival in San Juan at 2 p.m. Thursday through Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday departures from San Juan will be at 11:30 a.m., arriving in Miami at 2:30 p.m.
 The two principals of Sunbird Express have extensive backgrounds in the travel industry. Romanello owns and operates her own New York travel company. Rex Bounds, chairman, held many positions at Eastern Airlines, including that of New York regional sales director.
