 NEW 1993 HONDA MODELS DEBUT
 TORRANCE, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- American Honda Motor


Co. today introduced its 1993 Honda Division automobiles. Highlighting Honda's 1993 model lineup are a new 2-door Civic Coupe, Prelude VTEC with a new, more powerful 190-horsepower engine, and the limited production Accord Special Edition Sedan and Coupe with new luxury features for the top-selling automobile in the United States.
 Affordable and stylish, the 1993 Civic Coupe brings the current Civic line to four distinct bodystyles, along with the Sedan, Hatchback and recently introduced Civic del Sol. The Civic Coupe will be offered in a DX trim level with a 1.5-liter, 16-valve 102- horsepower engine, and a more fully equipped EX model featuring a 1.6-liter, 125-horsepower engine with variable valve timing. The EX is also available with a passenger's side airbag SRS and AM/FM stereo cassette system with six speakers as an option package.
 Prices for the Civic Coupe will start at $10,350 for the DX with 5-speed manual transmission, and range to $13,950 for the EX with option package when equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
 The Prelude VTEC offers a new level of performance with its more powerful 190-horsepower engine. The 2.2-liter powerplant uses Honda's VTEC system, electronically controlling valve timing and lift to achieve its high output. A passenger's side airbag SRS, anti-lock brakes (ABS), and a sophisticated AM/FM stereo cassette system with seven speakers are standard equipment on the Prelude VTEC. Available only with a 5-speed manual transmission, the Prelude VTEC is priced at $22,690.
 With a sophisticated Honda/Bose music system and leather-trimmed interior, the Accord Special Edition Sedan and Coupe offer added luxury to the top-selling car in the United States. Additional standard equipment includes a 4-speed automatic transmission, passenger's-side airbag SRS on the Special Edition Sedan, and a rear tail spoiler with LED stoplight on the Special Edition Coupe.
 The Accord Special Edition Coupe is priced at $21,520, with the Special Edition Sedan at $21,720.
