CULVER CITY, Calif., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- With the cooperation of the Elvis Presley estate, MGM/UA Home Video will be releasing approximately 60 minutes of never-before-seen footage of the "King Of Rock 'N Roll" in the June 24 release of "Elvis: The Lost Performances," it was announced by George Feltenstein, vice president of sales and marketing for the Los Angeles-based company. Available for a suggested retail price of $19.98, the video, which was produced by Turner Entertainment Co., features live performances as well as 10 minutes of rehearsal footage shot on the MGM lot on July 29, 1970.
 Elvis: The Lost Performances
During a routine inspection of MGM's underground film vault, a pallet loaded with lard cans marked "Elvis Trims" was discovered, containing numerous five-camera original negative trims and outtakes from "Elvis That's The Way It Is" and "Elvis On Tour." More than five years were spent reconstructing the footage so that collectors nationwide can now revel in this newly produced, one-hour musical celebration. Sequences include live performances from 1970 and 1972, featuring The King singing classic hits like "Teddy Bear," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Hound Dog," "All Shook Up" and more.
MGM/UA Home Video controls the home video rights to one of the largest libraries of filmed entertainment in the world. In addition to the new Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer theatrical releases, the company controls worldwide home video distribution rights to the Turner/MGM Library of 2,950 titles, and the United Artists Library of more than 1,000 motion pictures.
