 NETWORK WORLD ANNOUNCES FRAME RELAY TESTING
 FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Network World announced


today it will conduct comprehensive performance tests of products supporting frame relay specifications for high-speed data networking.
 Network World will be joined in the testing by AT&T Bell Laboratories, one of the world's most respected R&D organizations, and by Telenex Corp. and Wandel & Goltermann Technologies, Inc., two leading network test systems suppliers. Developers at AT&T Bell Laboratories will oversee the tests, and experts at Telenex and Wandel & Goltermann will contribute both test technologies and technical expertise to the frame relay tests, which will be conducted at AT&T Bell Laboratories.
 Network World, the leading networking publication, will highlight the results in a series of articles at set begin in April and continue throughout 1992. Among the products to be tested are frame relay compatible routers, frame relay switches and frame relay assemblers/ disassemblers.
 "We want to help our readers understand how frame relay will fit into their enterprise network strategies," said Network World Editor John Gallant. "This technology has garnered much attention in recent months and we need to show users what it really can do."
 Frame relay, a technology rapidly gaining in popularity, is a method for transmitting information at very high speed over public or private networks. It promises benefits for applications such as linking local area neworks (LANs) and high-speed data transfer.
 AT&T Bell Laboratories, with locations throughout the world, designs and develops new products, systems and services for AT&T and pursues a broad program of basic research. Its R&D interests include switching systems, transmission systems, network cable systems and operations software.
 Telenex Corporation, a unit of General Signal Corp., is a leading manufacturer of quality data communications network products.
 Wandel & Goltermann Technologies is an international manufacturer of electronic measurement equipment for the installation, maintenance and testing of communications networks.
