NETWORK SYSTEMS GETS LARGER ORDER FOR ROUTERS
 WITH RISC SYSTEM/6000 INTERFACE
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: NSCO) announced that it has received orders totaling more than $7.1 million from TRW, Aerojet General and IBM for a government project. More than $2 million of equipment was delivered in 1991, with the remainder to be supplied in 1992 and 1993.
The orders are for delivery of the DX7290 router and other HYPERchannel-DX equipment. The DX7290 is the industry's only high- performance router that connects to the IBM RISC System/6000 via the Serial Optical Channel Converter (SOCC). The DX7290 was announced by IBM and Network Systems in March 1991.
"Interest in the IBM RISC System/6000 and the DX7290 is high," said Warren Pillsbury, vice president of marketing for Network Systems. "That the order came before the general availability of the DX7290 is especially gratifying and confirms our belief that the DX7290 and the SOCC connection will be important to a significant number of our customers."
Network Systems, based in Minneapolis, is an industry leader in high-performance networking.
