NETWORK SYSTEMS GETS CERTIFICATION FOR GREENLINE SUPPORT OF TERADATA DBC
MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Systems Corporation's Remote Device Systems (RDS) Greenline host and device controller products have received official certification from Formula Consultants, Inc. (FCI), for support of the Teradata Data Base Computer (DBC) connected to Unisys 1100/2200 hosts. The DBC is a high-capacity, high- performance, relational data base processing system. AT&T/NCR is the parent company of Teradata.
The certification process started earlier this year at the request of a Network Systems Greenline customer, Trustee Savings Bank (TSB) in the United Kingdom. The certification was conducted in California by FCI, which is Teradata's officially designated certification body.
In parallel with the certification process, TSB has deployed Greenline in its production network. The system supports interconnection of 150 bank branches through two Unisys 2200 mainframes acting as front-ends to the DBC. The DBC-to-Unisys host connections are supported by GREENLINE over remote links.
Network Systems and Teradata are currently in the process of completing certification of Greenline support for IBM-to-DBC.
Other companies already using RDS Greenline products with Teradata systems include Bell South (USA), which uses Greenline to support the DBC on an IBM host, and Telverket (Sweden), which has a Unisys-to-DBC installation.
Network Systems, based in Minneapolis, is a leading supplier of high-performance networking solutions.
