NETPULSE OFFERS FREE INTERNET APPLIANCE TO GROW NETWORK.
Consumers can now add their gym to the list of places they can benefit from Internet access.
The Netpulse Z-Series is an Internet appliance that replaces the control panel on exercise bikes, steppers and elliptical motion machines, with a sleek, flat, touch-screen and a broadband Internet connection. Through the Netpulse portal, exercisers can surf the web, read email, listen to music, watch TV, shop, track workout results, and even earn frequent flier miles -- all while getting a great workout.
"Consumers spend billions of minutes on exercise machines each year," noted Thomas Proulx, Netpulse CEO and co-founder of Intuit. "Our portal provides entertainment, information, motivation and multitasking to help make workout time more fun and productive. It also gives sponsors a powerful tool to reach an upscale and captive audience."
With Netpulse's rich media, broadband network and precise demographic and geographic targeting, advertisers are consistently naming Netpulse among their top performing media buys.
"Netpulse provides Toyota with a unique opportunity to target and effectively impact a young, upscale, active-minded and difficult to reach audience," commented Jon Bucci, national manager of interactive communications at Toyota. "We are very pleased that our results so far have well exceeded our performance benchmarks."
Many other well-known consumer brands have run highly successful campaigns, including Proctor & Gamble, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, iVillage, WebMD, Hyatt and more.
The company's goal now is to grow fast, and leverage the multiple revenue streams it has already established from advertising, content sponsorships, e-commerce and subscription fees. Netpulse will grow its network by more than 10,000 free Netpulse Z-Series stations this year.
Since many club members use each station, this has the potential to add 5-10 million new consumers to its network footprint. "The rapid growth we experience from this free offer will solidify Netpulse's position as a leading portal and de-facto standard for Internet access, at what we like to call," quipped CEO Proulx, "The 'Point of Sweat!'"
