NETBALL: Great win for Meols.

GREAT MEOLS Primary School were the winners of a high five net ball tournament organised by Bebington Sports College, with Higher Bebington Junior School finishing as runners-up.

The special festival of sport was held to celebrate culmination of the Wirral Primary schools' high five initiative, organised by sports coordinators from the local partnership. The schools competing were Riverside, The Dell, Great Meols, Christ the King, Higher Bebington and Millfields.

Organiser Vicky Harris said: ``We have incorporated the principles of citizenship by giving youngsters the opportunity to take vital roles within the festival such as warm-up coach, umpire and official.

``By giving youngsters opportunities such as this we hope to develop the leaders of the future. ''
