 NERCO NAMES GENERAL MANAGER, SPRING CREEK COAL CO.
 SHERIDAN, Wyo., April 28 /PRNewswire/ --NERCO Coal Corp. today announced that Steve Beil has been named mine general manager, Spring Creek Coal Co. effective April 30. Beil will succeed Dave Dearcorn who has resigned his position to become special assistant to Clynton Nauman, chief operating officer of NERCO Coal Corp. and a Spring Creek officer. Dearcorn will be located at NERCO Coal Corp.'s offices in Sheridan, Wyo. Spring Creek Coal Co. is a wholly owned subsidiary of NERCO Coal Corp. which is headquartered in Portland, Ore.
 Beil, 39, was previously operations manager of the Spring Creek Mine, located near Decker, Mont. A mining engineer by training, Beil has been with NERCO Coal Corp. companies for 15 years and has held a number of technical and managerial positions at the company's operations. He has been at the Spring Creek Mine since 1990.
 Dearcorn, 43, has been an employee of NERCO Coal Corp. companies since 1971 and worked at three of the company's coal operations - - Dave Johnston Mine, Jim Bridger Mine and Spring Creek Mine, where he became general manager in 1985. According to Nauman, "Dave Dearcorn has been an extremely valuable manager for NERCO over the past 20 years and played a leadership role at Spring Creek in developing a highly productive and successful mining operation.
 "This year, we intend to revise our mine plan, construct a 12,000-foot overland conveyor system, and improve efficiencies to increase production and sales. Spring Creek coal is an attractive fuel for both domestic and international markets, and we hope to augment existing long-term contracts with new customers in 1992," Nauman added.
 The Spring Creek Mine produced 6.7 million tons of coal in 1991 with 5.4 million sold under long-term contracts. The mine is served by the Burlington Northern Railroad.
