NEORX APPOINTS ROBERT SCHROFF AS VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANGER, CARDIOVASCULAR PRODUCTS
SEATTLE, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- NeoRx Corporation (NASDAQ: NERX) today announced the appointment of Robert W. Schroff, Ph.D., M.B.A., to the newly created position of vice president, general manager, cardiovascular products. Dr. Schroff has served as director, Business Development and Analytical Laboratories and has been responsible for several of the company's corporate collaborations. Prior to that, he headed NeoRx's Immunological Assessment Laboratory, and then became director of Clinical Research, where he managed initial trials of the company's OncoTrac (R) and Rhenex (R) products. Dr. Schroff received his Ph.D., in Immunology from Bowman Gray School of Medicine and did post-doctoral research in clinical immunology at UCLA, where he was a key member of the team that first identified Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) that is now known to be caused by the infection with HIV.
Before joining NeoRx in 1985, he spent several years at the National Cancer Institute in its Biological Response Modifiers Program.
