NEOMECS HIRES RESEARCH ENGINEER; AHN TO WORK IN MATERIAL MODIFICATION

 MINNEAPOLIS, April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- NeoMecs Inc., Minneapolis, announced that Jong H. Ahn has joined its staff as research engineer for material modification.
 Ahn received his Ph.D. in materials science in 1992 from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colo., where he also received his M.S. in chemistry in 1989. He received his bachelor's degree in textile engineering in 1975 from the Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. In 1990, Ahn received the Korean Honor Scholarship from the Korean Honor Scholarship Foundation, chaired by the Korean Ambassador to the United States.
 Prior to obtaining his secondary degrees, Ahn was research and development team manager for Tong Yang Nylon Co., Ltd., Seoul, where he developed several patents for various fabrics and coatings and received several awards for his research.
 NeoMecs Inc., which is privately held, was founded in 1989. It specializes in material surface modification and is developing membrane products for the environmental, medical and biotechnology markets.
