 NEOMECS HIRES PATKE AS SENIOR SCIENTIST
 MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- NeoMecs Inc. announced that


Kishor G. Patke, Ph.D., has joined its staff as senior scientist.
 Patke was formerly a senior research engineer at St. Jude Medical, Inc. (1983-92), where he worked on Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) reactor development and on coatings for mechanical heart valves. He received several awards for his work there, including the St. Jude Medical Award (1991) and the St. Jude Medical President's Award (1986).
 Prior to St. Jude Medical, Patke was a research scientist at the University of Louisville (Kentucky) in 1983 and a research engineer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Ohio University (Athens, Ohio) from 1980-82.
 He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Louisville and an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India.
 NeoMecs Inc., which is privately held, was founded in 1989 to commercialize plasma polymerization technologies. NeoMecs specializes in material surface modification and is developing membrane products for the environmental, medical and biotechnology markets.
