 NEOMECS AND APPLIED MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY SETTLE LITIGATION
 MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- NeoMecs Inc. and Applied Membrane Technology, Inc. (AMT) have reached an out-of-court settlement of litigation involving an employment agreement, unfair competition, trade secrets and other issues.
 In the agreement, AMT will provide NeoMecs with a license to certain technologies, and in return, NeoMecs will furnish AMT with know-how and information associated with NeoMecs' technologies. NeoMecs also agrees to supply AMT with fiber product for the next 18 months and to refrain from selling such product directly to AMT's customers for the next two years.
 "We are pleased to have this litigation behind us," said Dr. Hiroshi Nomura, president and founder of NeoMecs. "There are enormous market opportunities for our technologies, and we are eager to move our products to market." Dr. Nomura is internationally known in the membrane field and in applications of plasma polymerization to modify or treat the surfaces of materials. He has a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Tokyo and has done advanced studies at the University of Missouri and the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics, Frankfurt, Germany.
 NeoMecs Inc., a privately held company, was formed in 1989 to pursue commercial-scale applications of plasma polymerization technology. NeoMecs provides a specialized material coating service to industry, and is developing membrane products for the medical, biotechnology and environmental markets.
