 MIAMI, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Neolens, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEOL), a Miami- based manufacturer of polycarbonate ophthalmic lenses, announced today the introduction of NEOLITES 1.5 Platinum AR Plus lenses, a new stocked product line featuring Neolens' state-of-the-art finished single vision polycarbonate lenses combined with the most advanced anti-reflection coating available on the market today. NEOLITES 1.5 Platinum AR Plus lenses provide consumers significant cosmetic and visual benefits, including reduced glare, water repellency, anti-static/anti-smudge properties, superior scratch resistance, protection from ultra-violet rays, thinness, lightness and impact strength. Due to the minimization of glare and light reflections, anti-reflection coated lenses have proven to be most beneficial for night driving, computer operations and reading in general. Already comprising over 50 percent of the ophthalmic lens market in Europe, anti-reflection coated lenses approximate 8-12 percent of the U.S. market. With several major U.S. retail optical chains now featuring anti-reflection coated lenses, U.S. market share is expected to increase substantially over the next few years. Neolens expects to share in this growth and has already realized substantial increases in sales revenues with the release of this product.
 NEOLITES 1.5 Platinum AR Plus lenses combine Neolens' distortion free high-index polycarbonate lenses with a multi-layered and hydrophobic treatment that provides 99.5 percent light transmission and reduces residual color and Newton/myopic rings associated with minus Rx's. NEOLITES 1.5 Platinum AR Plus lenses are hard coated before application of the multi-layered anti-reflection coating providing superior scratch resistance and durability. A specific gravity of 1.20 and an index of refraction of 1.586 make NEOLITES 1.5 Platinum AR Plus lenses the lightest anti-reflection coated lenses stocked and available today for immediate delivery.
 Neolens, Inc. has developed a patented manufacturing process which produces high quality polycarbonate lenses without the distortion and stress previously associated with polycarbonate lenses. Polycarbonate lenses have significant advantages over lenses made of glass or conventional hard resin plastic in terms of thinness, lightness, impact strength and protection from ultra-violet rays. Polycarbonate lenses can also be made thinner than lenses made of high index plastic and still exceed mandated FDA impact standards, while costing much less and providing retailers higher profit margins.
