NEIL DAVENPORT RESIGNS AS PRESIDENT, CEO AND DIRECTOR OF CRAY COMPUTER
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Cray Computer Corp. (NASDAQ: CRAY) announced that Neil Davenport has today resigned as president, CEO and Director.
Davenport stated that after four years of progress following the inception of the project in Colorado Springs, the company has reached a point where it believes it has the appropriate resources for the completion of the CRAY-3. This, therefore, seems to be the ideal time for him to explore other opportunities, with the minimum disruption to the company. He added that he has enjoyed working directly with Seymour Cray for the past four years, and indirectly for the previous seven years.
Seymour Cray, chairman, stated that he was sorry to see Davenport leave. "Neil has made a major contribution to the company. He will be missed. We thank him and wish him well."
Mr. Cray will assume the duties of acting president and CEO for the time being.
