NEED FOR ACHIEVERS PALMDALE HIGH SEEKING HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS.

PALMDALE - Palmdale High School is seeking nominations for 2004 inductees to the school's Alumni Hall of Fame.

Nomination categories are: community service, visual and performing arts or journalism, government services, science or education, and sports.

The deadline for nominations is July 16.

The induction ceremony will be held in Sept. 23 during Back to School Night in the campus gymnasium.

A nomination form can be obtained at the school Web site at www.phsfalcons.org.

The Hall of Fame was created in 2002 with eight inductees; four more were added in 2003.

Plans call for hanging Hall of Fame members' photos in the administration building.

The 2002 inductees were Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford; Wayne Boudreau, recognized for his work with local charities; Patrick Morris, San Diego Zoo's head veterinarian; Michael Hingson, who works with Guide Dogs for the Blind and who with his guide dog escaped from the World Trade Center after the 9-11 attack; the late Ray Monti, an educator for 29 years with the Antelope Valley Union High School District; attorney Rob Parris; longtime former Walt Disney Imagineering employee Kathy Mulholland Kirk, and former major league baseball player Randy Kutcher.

The 2003 inductees were Sherry Lasagna, retired aide to county Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich; former Palmdale School District trustee Fred Thompson; the late Fred Strasburg, principal at Tumbleweed School, and Linda Ackerman, who played basketball for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
