NED NALLE ASSUMES NEW RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MCA TV
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Ned Nalle,

executive vice president, Universal Television, will immediately assume the additional responsibility of supervising the development of MCA TV's first-run syndication programs, it was announced today by Tom Wertheimer, executive vice president, MCA Inc., and Tom Thayer, president, Universal Television. John Goldhammer, senior vice president, Program Development, and his staff will work directly with Nalle. Shelly Schwab, president, MCA TV, will continue to oversee the sales and marketing of all MCA/Universal first-run and off- network programming to broadcast and basic cable, as well as supervise MCA's own barter sales organization, which is currently being formed under David Brenner.
In making the announcement, Wertheimer noted, "Historical walls separating programs produced for networks from those produced for other broadcast and cable entities have disappeared. It is imperative that we substantially expand our efforts in the first-run arena and that we be able to draw upon the talents of executives and producers throughout all divisions of the MCA Television Group to accomplish this goal. We will, of course, continue to seek to do business with outside producers as well.
"It is also important that we step up our development of reality and

similar type programs for networks," Wertheimer continued. "I am confident that this appointment will maximize MCA's ability to bring our best programming effort to all our customers."
