NEC Provides New Solution for Retail Stores Worldwide.

- Business growth focused in China and Southeast Asia -

Tokyo, Sept 6, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) is providing a new solution for retail shops, such as convenience stores and drug stores, throughout international markets that include China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

This solution provides a comprehensive range of system coverage for both retail stores and company headquarters.

Retail store solutions consist of POS systems and back office store systems, as well as order, inspection and inventory systems using portable terminals. Headquarter solutions include sales management and other daily business functions, as well as optional features that can include the management of fresh foods.

These systems can be flexibly introduced by retailers in separate stages, enabling them to select the best solution that most effectively meets their business needs. For example, a store may initially deploy POS systems, portable terminals and back office store systems independently, and then later introduce additional systems to both retail locations and company headquarters as needed.

Systems can also be easily adapted for international markets, including the tax systems, currencies and other specifications that are best suited for regional demands.

Key features of the system are as follows:

1. Total support for a broad range of retail stores

NEC capitalizes on its long history and industry know-how of providing retail systems throughout the world to provide total retail solutions for a full range of retail chain stores worldwide.

These systems enable business headquarters to increase sales and decrease production costs by managing retail locations through POS systems, portable terminal systems and back office store systems that monitor sales, inventory, inspection, etc.

- POS Systems:

NEC's globally available TWINPOS G Series POS terminals are easily introduced and localized to meet the sales promotion needs of any market.

- Mobility Systems:

Portable terminals enable greater efficiency in ordering, inspection and inventory management.

- Back Office Store Systems:

Contributes to store competitiveness by supporting the management of sales records, staff attendance, ordered goods, inventories, returned goods, etc.

- Headquarter Systems:

Supports the overall expansion of sales and business management, including the management of vendors and retail stores, through master management functions and data distribution systems that reach multiple stores covering a wide area.

2. Specialized systems for a wide variety of business requirements

In addition to the initial introduction of POS systems, portable terminal systems and back office store systems at retail stores, systems can be gradually expanded throughout headquarters and additional retail stores as business expands.

Systems can also be easily adapted for international markets, including the tax systems, currencies and other specifications that are best suited for regional demands.

NEC aims to promote this new solution by leveraging its long history of global POS terminal expansion as part of contributing to efficient business practices and growing sales for a wide range of retail stores across the world.
