NCSW plans activities for enhancing political participation of women.

ISLAMABAD -- National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) has planned various activities for enhancing political participation of women during the general elections 2018.

Senior officials of NCSW Rehana Wahga told reporter that the activities would be extended to the grassroots level to ensure active participation in the elections process.

She said said that efforts would be made to reach out to rural areas for enhanced political participation of women.

She said that despite all efforts, there are pockets of areas where women are not allowed to vote.

The officials further said that the responsibility also lies on the political parties and their candidates in the coming elections to place women's safety in workplace, neighborhood and communities high on their agendas. 'Women in Pakistan are equal citizens and deserve respect and dignity.'
