 NCR NAMES W.T. O'SHEA TO HEAD NEW PRODUCT GROUP;
 COMBINES NETWORK, INTEGRATED SYSTEMS ORGANIZATIONS
 DAYTON, Ohio, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- NCR Corporation today announced the creation of a new product development organization headed by William T. O'Shea, a former AT&T Computer Systems executive who joined NCR in July 1991 during the merger.
 O'Shea, formerly senior vice president, NCR Network Products Group, has been named senior vice president, Network and Integrated Systems Group effective today.
 The new organization combines NCR's existing Network Products and Integrated Systems Groups. According to NCR chairman and chief executive officer Gilbert P. Williamson: "NCR will be better able to take advantage of the natural synergies that exist among our transaction processing products, our enterprise-wide products such as COOPERATION(tm) the Document Management System, and our networking products such as StarGROUP(tm).
 "For example, to effectively implement COOPERATION throughout an enterprise, the control and management of both local and wide area networks must be integrated into the COOPERATION system. This same type of synergy is also valid for NCR general purpose products such as the System 3000. The effective control and management of the network is the key element in providing a total system solution to our customers.
 "By capitalizing on synergies such as these, NCR will have unmatched systems and services in the marketplace. This new management takes us one step closer to realizing our goal of becoming the global leader in enterprise-wide information systems," Williamson said.
 NCR also announced the retirement, due to health reasons, of Darrell C. Clark, senior vice president, Integrated Systems Group.
 In addition, NCR also announced the appointment of Tony Barrese as vice president, Network Products Division, reporting to O'Shea. Barrese will be responsible for all network product development at NCR's engineering and manufacturing locations in San Diego, St. Paul, Lincroft, New Jersey, and Utrecht.
 Other organizations reporting to O'Shea include the Cooperative Computing Systems Division, Imaging Systems Division, Transaction Terminal Systems Division, Self-Service Systems Division and the Printer Division.
 In a related organizational announcement, NCR Applied Digital Data Systems Inc. (ADDS), formerly a part of the Integrated Systems Group, will become a part of NCR's General Purpose Products Group (GPPG).
 NCR, the Networked Computing Resource of AT&T, develops, manufactures, markets and supports business information processing systems for worldwide markets.
