 NCR FIELD ENGINEERS DECLINE REPRESENTATION
 BY COMMUNICATIONS WORKERS OF AMERICA
DAYTON, Ohio, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Field engineers in NCR Corporation's Dayton Field Service District voted today to decline representation by the Communications Workers of America (CWA).
Preliminary results indicate that the CWA failed to get the majority of votes required to be certified as the district's collective bargaining agent. Of the 103 votes cast, 54 declined CWA representation while 49 were in favor of it.
Under National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) procedures, both NCR and the CWA now have seven days to challenge any aspect of the election process. At the end of this period, the NLRB will certify the vote.
William W. Holloway, NCR vice president, Personnel and Education said, "The outcome reflects our belief that NCR people do not require third-party representation to continue to receive competitive wages, benefits and working conditions commensurate with our industry."
The NCR Dayton Field Service District is one of 99 field engineering districts throughout the United States that provides support services to NCR customers.
