NCR ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP ASSIGNMENTS

 DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- NCR today announced a series of new leadership assignments designed to support the company's new Customer Focused Business Model.
 "In making these changes, we are drawing from the very strong executive bench that exists within NCR, to broaden our leadership focus on key processes, to strengthen the support of our businesses, and to ensure that we get closer to each and every customer," said Jerre Stead, NCR chairman and CEO.
 Bill O'Shea, currently senior vice president, Network and Integrated Systems, has been named senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing. O'Shea's organization will be responsible for understanding customer needs in targeted markets and developing products and services to meet those needs. In addition, he will chair a new Global Operations Team.
 Tom Mays, currently senior vice president, General Purpose Products Group, has been appointed senior vice president, Products and Systems. He will be responsible for providing research and development of products and systems, worldwide manufacturing and distribution, and technical support to meet customer needs.
 Jack Poole, currently vice president and group executive, U. S. Group, will become senior vice president, The Americas, responsible for sales and service in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
 Joe Stephan, currently vice president, Europe Group, will become senior vice president, International, responsible for sales and service in 12 international regions.
 Dick Reese, currently vice president, Corporate Customer Services, will become senior vice president, Worldwide Customer Services, with responsibility for providing world-class professional and support services as part of the total customer solution.
 Tony Fano, currently vice president, Latin America/Middle East/Africa, will become senior vice president, Quality and Reengineering, with responsibility for ensuring total quality management is included in company processes and integrated with customer and supplier processes.
 Other members of NCR's leadership team include Dick Brenner, vice president, Human Resources; Dan Enneking, vice president, Systemedia; Ray Fitzsimons, vice president, secretary and general counsel; John Giering, senior vice president and chief financial officer; Phil Neches, senior vice president and chief scientist; and Lola Signom, NCR values officer and vice president, Public Relations and Associate Information.
 NCR's Customer Focused Business Model, introduced today, will move the computer maker into a team-oriented, front-line decision-making mode to enhance competitiveness. This model will be used as a foundation for all processes, roles, and accountabilities across NCR. The model is customer-centric, seeking out continuous customer input and validation.
